Indore and Sev

Sev or Seo is a popular Indian snack namkeen, consisting of small pieces of fried crunchy noodles made of chickpea flour (besan) paste, which are seasoned with turmeric, cayenne, ajwain and other authentic spices based on the location in which it is being made. These Sev can vary in thickness, spices, flavours and texture. Sev can be eaten as a standalone ready-to-eat snack as well as a topping on famous street foods like bhejpuri and sevpuri. With its long shelf life, Se can be made at home and stored for weeks if not months in an airtight container. Sev is especially popular in north Indian states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, where it is eaten along with sweetened Boondi topped over it.

Talking about Sev and not mentioning Indore can be counted as a sin. Indore consumes so much Sev in a single day that Sev has nowadays become synonymous with the city. Apart from Indore, Ujjain and Ratlam of Madhya Pradesh is known for putting Sev in everything that they eat. If you judge those who eat pineapple on pizzas, you clearly have not seen people eating Sev on pizza. Sandwich, Paratha, Samosa, Patties, and the list is long. From Chutney Sev to Garlic Sev, you can find every flavour in the markets of Indore.

Known for street foods and chaats, Indore is a heaven for people who love sweet, spicy, and savoury food. The love for food combined with the love for Sev, creates a whole new world of dishes infused with sev. Sev Tamatar ki Sabzi, Sev Paratha, Sev Poha, and many more. Sev is among the best namkeen that exists. And Indori Sev has its place on the top. Indori namkeen in general, is known to be crispy, tasty, rich, and healthy. People love to share these snacks with their friends and family back at home. Indori namkeen is also one of the most gifted products on any occasion. Be it festivals, get-togethers, party or housewarming, people love to share namkeen with their loved ones. With drinks or with tea, Sev is a perfect companion to your beverages. If food is on your mind and Bhiyaao on your tongue, then I bet you are an Indori.
