I was waiting for my bus outside the Perumal Temple when the sky threatened to open up. I had a craving for tea with some crunchy local namkeen.

I tried the popular Sattur Seeval - a garlic-flavoured crunchy and buttery snack cooked on woodfire. Like the popular ribbon pakoda, these bites can be enjoyed as a type of South Indian murukku chips. The Sattur Seeval is made in pure groundnut oil with fresh white butter being kneaded into the dough to make it more crumbly. Here’s sending a little crunch your way!
